Response to the film has been mixed and poor in some quarters - critics have completely failed to understand that Shooter feeds directly into the the political and cultural zeitgeist of our time.

It should be upheld as a fantastic example of how many Hollywood directors have vowed to devote their work in contribution to the mass awakening to the crimes of the state that is taking place worldwide.

“The Shooter” demands to be discussed in the context of the Iraq war and the current political climate. The movie’s moral response to political corruption may be confused, but it also indicates how far public opinion has shifted in recent years.

Now, apparently, the type of government-business conspiracy suggested in Michael Moore’s “Fahrenheit 9/11” has become so easy for viewers to accept that it can be incorporated into the plot of even a Mark Wahlberg shoot-’em-up without fear of antagonizing mainstream moviegoers.   more »

And Barack Obama chimes in with, "Whether it's global terrorism or pandemic disease, dramatic climate change or the proliferation of weapons of mass annihilation, the threats we face at the dawn of the 21st century can no longer be contained by borders and boundaries."   more »

While a strong argument can be made that Zimbabweans are arguably the most politically astute Africans on the continent, which means they understand how their own brothers and sisters in such significant positions would help George W. Bush accomplish his misplaced mission to effect illegal regime change in Zimbabwe, this does not mean they will accept it lying down.

Within the last two months, there have been many debates in the African community within the US in relationship to Obama’s credentials and his genuine commitment to his own people’s struggles.

In the wake of his decision to submit this resolution, we now know where his loyalties lie. He might have Kenyan blood running through his veins, but in a quest to make history in the US he is willing to let Zimbabweans starve, suffer or even die.

The United States has been waging war against Sudan for the past 15 years, and we need to stop it.

Just as with Iraq, the U.S. war against Sudan is a war for oil and a war for Israel. The proposed invasion of Sudan is based on lies.

The lie of accusing the government of Sudan of "genocide in Darfur" serves the same function as the lie a few years ago accusing the government of Iraq of "possessing weapons of mass destruction".
