Paris Hilton may represent America one hell of a lot better than most of its politicians and leaders.

She's got money, flaunts it; likes sex, likes giving head on video; can't drive for a hill of beans, has about as much interest in the workings of the mind as a sack of sledgehammers.

Likes to get blasted, loves a spectacle, finds the courts a joke, loves expensive cars. Must spend half her life in front of a mirror, isn't to articulate. etc. etc.

Hell, let's put her in the Oval Office. Wait a minute, lets make her the Queen of America, get rid of elections, scrap the constitution and keep partying like there is no tomorrow.   more »

Americans are absolutely convinced they possess the right to pursue “happiness” and “security”, regardless of the cost to the Earth and the rest of its sentient inhabitants.

Americans are in a race to hoard the most toys, to eat the most food, to have the most orgasms, to be the best looking, and to be the biggest winners as we engage in a repugnant orgy of narcissistic and gluttonous hedonism.

Contrary to the false consciousness bestowed upon us by a horde of incredibly adept propagandists who “dutifully” man the bulwarks of exploitative capitalism, we are not “benevolent liberators” or “peace makers”.

We wage war perpetually, strip the world bare like a swarm of locusts, and give virtually nothing in return. Ensuring our “happiness” and “security” extracts a tremendous price from the rest of the Earth.   more »

The United States claims to be a stickler for "the rule of law".

As has often been observed of great power politics, respect for the rule of law at home tells us nothing about respect for the rule of law in the wider world.

The claim is simply unsustainable, transparently so in light of the vast crime that is the Iraq war.

The invasion of that country, bringing with it the deaths of approaching one million people, is the supreme war crime: a war of aggression, denounced as "illegal" by Kofi Annan, then secretary-general of the UN.   more »

In a few weeks, on June 5, 2007, Israel will have occupied native Palestinian lands in the West Bank and Gaza for a full 40 years.

That marks some three generations during which an entire indigenous people have been subjected, on their own soil, to a racist and brutal occupation which has brought them continual death, destruction and misery.

In the meantime, Zionism, as a political ideology, has succeeded only in building an apartheid state for Jews; an elaborate ghetto kept separate from its Palestinian neighbors by concentrated military power.

An aesthetically monstrous "security wall," economic dependency on Western support, compulsory military conscription and training (including how to kill with weapons), and a hate-based education system for Jewish children that teaches them to despise anyone and anything Palestinian, Arab, or Muslim, in that order.   more »

These so-called Christians are not relying on genuine faith, which is supposed to be the bedrock of their belief, but instead rely on manipulation in order to get what they want.

Do they not see the contradiction of calculating control over a system that is supposed to be separate from government?

If they believe God answers prayer, why didn't they simply ask to have the government handed over to them without going through subversive means? Apparently, prayer alone wasn't good enough.

Because they aren't Christians, whether they realize it or not. Bush and others like him should be referred to as fundies.
