Why do women want to look like pre-pubertal girls?

Most men say they think facial and body hair on a woman is disgusting, with comments including:

"I wouldn't go out with a woman who was hairy, that's just lazy", "It's disgusting", "It's unattractive".

And the women? Most say they remove almost all body hair - arms, legs, underarms, Brazilian, upper lip, chin, eyebrows.   more »

We followed the rules, went to university, racked up the graduate and student debt, went straight into jobs and paid our taxes.

Yet we still get made redundant because management cant add 2 numbers together, we still have to sit through hours of PR nonsense about "Moments of Truth" and other crap that some snake oil salesman has sold to them.

We are expected to turn up at 9 leave as late as possible, give our lives to the company, ignore the unions, eat our lunch at our desks.

Some companies even try to tell us who we can go out with and what we do in our own time (no getting drunk on a school night and no taking drugs).

After all of this, we are expected to take redundancy with good grace, even as the company squirms to get out of any moral obligation to give you a good pay-off.   more »

In many ways, a presidential candidate is the ultimate consumer product - and, for better or worse, the package that brand comes in is important.

In our brand study, we directly asked respondents which candidate looks "most presidential."

On the Democratic side, 23 percent said Hillary Clinton looks most presidential, followed by John Edwards at 19 percent.   more »

Obama masquerades as a "peace candidate" - and then proposes the Americans invade Pakistan, the only Muslim nation that has The Bomb.

After the U.S. has propped up the military regime for generations, and stunted democracy in a country of 165 million, Obama now thinks he can just walk into western Pakistan - Waziristan - to find and kill Osama bin Laden.

In the process, he would unite all of the Right and the Left opposition to the government in Islamabad, and give the generals no choice but to brandish The Bomb.

Obama wants to add 100,000 new troops to the U.S. military. Now we know where they will be going: Waziristan, a place from Hell.   more »

There are very few Muslims in the UK who would agree that the killing of innocents is desirable (after all who does?), but a large section would say that the debate about terrorism is missing the point.

But now they do not need the mainstream media. They watch al-Jazeera as well as satellite TV from Muslim countries and a plethora of internet sites that provide a parallel world view. They believe they have another source of the truth.

The mainstream media are largely dismissed as government propaganda. Muslim organisations that claim to speak on their behalf are usually considered mouthpieces for specific interests or movements that advise the government in order to claim lucrative grants.

The under-30 generation have taken this disconnect a stage further. Surveys indicate that a large section of this generation - around 20% - at least empathise with the 7/7 bombers. They are growing up in Britain but have no representation in mainstream British media.   more »

These days, you see Good Ol' Bill, or the Comeback Kid, as he is variously known, wiggling his head on the TV news.

It's that man again, campaigning for his wife, Hillary, among Americans who, terminally naive, still believe the Democratic Party is theirs and that "it's time to vote a woman into the White House".

Together, the Clintons are known as "Billary" and rightly so.

The more sardonic among us refer to them as the Hillbillies. Redneck hucksters and hustlers who have grifted their way to the top.

Like Good Ol' Bill, his wife has no plans to address the divisions of a society that allows 130,000 Americans to claim the wealth of millions of their fellow citizens.   more »
