Why do women drink themselves to death? Twice as many do, compared to 15 years ago. They vomit alone in their bathrooms, throwing up their self-disgust.

In 1991, 7.2 women aged 35-54 per 100,000 died of alcohol-related diseases; today it is 14.8.

Some will die of cirrhosis of the liver, or of the drugs they take when they are drunk. Some will die in alcohol-related accidents and some of despair - they will simply kill themselves. The question is, why are more women becoming alcoholics today?

The true intention of the US occupation of Iraq has been exposed once more with the construction of a so-called security wall “around Sunni districts that are surrounded by Shia areas.”

The move is being presented to the world as protecting the Sunni’s from the Shiite, and preventing the Iraqi born “insurgents” from attacking the US occupation and their fellow band of squatters.

The US plan to establish a 5-kilometer-long, 3.7-meter-high concrete wall, which is “being erected in haste by the 407th Brigade support battalion of the famed 82nd Airborne Division, currently based in sprawling Camp Taji, north of Baghdad.

“It's being built, Dubai-style, by semi-slave labor - underpaid Iraqi crews, although the engineers and the cranes are all-American.”

It can only be described as “the first instalment of The Baghdad gulag, apartheid in Mesopotamia, or Balkanization with Arabic subtitles.”   more »

I met one of his staffers in a bar after the South Carolina victory. After several Scotches "Lawrence" started to open up.

"Like all of us, Barack has two sides to him. His public persona is laid-back, cool - I suppose you'd call it - but beneath that affable exterior he's very different.

"When he's tired he's very ratty - that's no surprise. But the side I really can't stand is his petulant, spoiled-brat one. He really seems to believe he's "chosen", which means we - his "hired help" - have no right to question his judgment.
